Strengthening the quality of community life.
A healthy community is one that is built upon grass-roots cooperation and responsibility of each citizen being stewards of their surrounding environment. Periodically, the Foundation engages in supporting events, programs, or strategic capital projects that help to support a vibrant community that will attract and retain residents and visitors alike. Typically, this focus area is a small percentage of the Foundation’s annual giving and is often initiated by the Trustees.
The Foundation makes priority for this funding in the following areas:
- Neighborhood development/improvement programs – helping to make the community more livable and sustainable
- Employment or vocational assistance – helping people improve their ability to earn a living-wage
- Housing and shelters – providing a safe place to stay for families in need
- Arts & cultural programs – providing experiences that further appreciation and exposure for arts and culture.
